Work Experience >>

This section of the site contains information and reports from recent work experience placements organised by BlueJam

If you would like to do work experience with BlueJam, we are on the register that you can access at school, so tell your careers advisor about us and get in touch. It is a work experience week, not a training scheme, so although you will gain valuable training you will be expected to help with the general work of running a busy arts organisation. You do not need to be a musician - as well as other art forms, we also do a lot of web-based work, design work and general admin!

Claire Plasom-Scott, Chris Redgate, Stephen Hyde
Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith

Year 11 Work Experience Week. June 2008. Hear the music from the Dragons Play they wrote and performed for Warcop nursery and infants classes - who loved it! The headteacher Mrs Linsley asked them back again twice she was so impressed with the way they worked with the children.

Kate Wilkinson, Tom Burford, Bryony Jarman-Pinto
Ullswater Community College

Year 13 Work Experience Week, July 2008. They spent the week making a Music Machine with Jolly Green Jon and then assembled it at Culgaith and Temple Sowerby Schools and gave demonstrations. They also took it to Alston Summer Project and Skirwith Arts Day. See the videos (1 & 2) from Alston of the young people playing it.
