Music Parts for instrumentalists

The music parts for instrumentalists are below. Also two songs which we will all be playing/singing together.

Also Gaudete which is a Christmas song Sarah Wallcook will be doing with you.

If you have any queries about the music, which parts to learn, or any other questions do feel free to contact me. My email is jillyjarman@me.com

You can also phone me on 07766057315. People have been phoning with questions, and it is useful for me as I get more information about the standard of players and what people are having problems with in advance of the event.

FAQs:

1. The reason that there are separate parts for clarinets is that they need the music written up a tone. They will have the same choice of easier or harder parts. Do not download their parts if you don't play clarinet! (update - we now have a possible trumpet player - they should use the clarinet parts)

2. Singers can learn any of the parts for the 2 songs - they are all-mid range so it doesn't matter if your voice is high or low. I will be uploading mp3s so that people can hear the music as well as see it.

3. All the tunes now have guitar tab parts and guitar chord symbols.

Music Parts: What to download and why.

Singers should download California Dreamin' and Muevete - these are the songs that are being done with singers and instruments together. Also Gaudete. If you are a singer and play an instrument and would like to join in on Galliarde, please let me know.

Gaudete
This is a lovely Christmas piece in three parts. They are not difficult and it will sound amazing!

California Dreamin'.
All instruments can play the INTRO - choose which part you like best.

Then most people will sing through the tune - (if you are a confident keyboard player or guitarist, or wind or string player and would like to play through the whole piece, please email me.)
Then all instruments will join in again at the CODA section. The rhythms may look difficult but once you hear them, they are easy. There is a midi file which you can listen to.

Galliarde
This is a lovely medieval piece. We will start slowly and then add drums and get a good rhythm going.

People can choose any part to play, up or down and octave. You can also learn all the parts and then swop around during the performance - this will change the colour of the piece and make it more exciting. Once it speeds up, you can switch to a drum if it gets too fast for you to play.

If you are not used to reading from a score and want to just play one line, you can highlight it in a colour so you don't lose your place.

Dance My Boots Off!
This is a fun folk piece. This also starts slowly and then gets faster - as fast as we can play it!

Muevete Samba
This is a Latin piece with drum parts - everyone will be able to have a go at the drum parts, then add instruments and voices.
