Solfest 2008

The BlueJam Festival Band played on the Drystyan Stage again Sunday morning - once again the sun shone and we got a good crowd, the sound crew were brilliant and we played well. Congratulations everyone!

The BlueJam Samba Band did our first walkabout which was amazing. We were joined by Ben Gates and his drummers and it was really fun. Everyone is up for doing it again next year.

We would also like to do some more jazz/not jazz. The Oli Bentley trio performed on the Soundwave stage, which was a great space with their new 3D sound system. (They also had a gamelan and sofas)

Loads of people connected with BlueJam performed this year at Solfest - it was quite amazing
here is a list - if I've missed anyone out, let me know!

....Catherine Ashcroft, Rob Heron, Paul Harrison, Ella Jarman-Pinto, Fiona Clayton, Carolyn Francis, Mike Woodward (Digitalis, Rory Connor Band), Ben Parkinson (Digitalis, Tarras), Rob Gibbons (Digitalis), Tim Shaw, Tom Doak, Jake Thwaites, Ethan, Ben Gates, 15 festival band musicians and 18 samba band players...

If you do pop/funk/soul/rock etc there's one piece of advice - do a jazz degree! If you can play jazz you can play anything
